A Full Shelf
Cold storage, fresh produce, and steady Wednesday and Saturday food access for Mount Vernon families, with Westchester's People's Pantry serving from inside the Center.
On Tuesday, December 1, 2026, the whole world gives. We are asking the Hudson Valley to give close to home: 28 East First Street in Mount Vernon, where the African American Chamber of Commerce of the Hudson Valley is opening its Community Food and Economic Resource Center.
A business owner in this county can be talented, licensed, insured, and still locked out of the contracts and capital that keep a company alive. A family can work two jobs and still stand in a food line. Our Chamber was built to close both gaps at once.
This fall, that mission got an address. Inside the new Center, Westchester’s People’s Pantry starts serving neighbors on December 2, reaching about 700 people a week at its Wednesday and Saturday distributions. Down the hall, owners will learn to read a bid the way evaluators score it, join a standing vendor registry, and sit across from buyers who sign contracts.

Your gift this Tuesday is not a donation into the dark. It is groceries on a shelf, a seat in a training room, and a front door that opens on time.

Bid 914, our two-day contracting intensive on January 28 and 29, 2027, plus The 914 Bench, the standing registry that keeps local firms visible to buyers long after the event ends.
Bid-readiness training, capital connections, and one-on-one guidance that help Black-owned and minority-owned businesses price right, compete, and win.
Fifty members giving $100 gets us there before midnight. Every gift above that line stretches what the Center can stock, teach, and staff in its first season.
Keeps the Center’s doors open and its resource shelves ready for whoever walks in.

Many employers match charitable donations dollar for dollar. Ask yours, and your $100 arrives as $200.
One share can reach the donor your wallet cannot. Post the link, tag a friend, tell them why you gave.
Honor a mentor, a matriarch, or the business that raised you, right in the dedication line.
