Privacy Policy

Your Trust Matters. Here’s How We Protect It.

This policy explains what information the African American Chamber of Commerce of the Hudson Valley collects through this website, how we use it, who helps us handle it, and the choices you have.

Effective November 2, 2026

We never sell your data

Your information is used to run the Chamber and serve members, not sold or rented to anyone.

Payments handled securely

Membership payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.

You stay in control

Update your profile any time, unsubscribe from emails, or ask us to delete your account.

Who we are

The African American Chamber of Commerce of the Hudson Valley, Inc. (“AACCHV,” “we,” “us”) supports Black-owned and minority-owned businesses across the Hudson Valley through membership, networking, education, funding resources, events and a public Business Directory. This policy applies to aacchudsonvalley.org and the services offered through it.

Information we collect

We only ask for what we need to run the Chamber and deliver the services you sign up for.

Account & membership

Username, name, email address and password when you register, plus the membership plan you choose.

Business profile

Business name, phone, address, email, website, logo or photo, industry, certification status and a description. You can add a second business if you run more than one.

Payments & donations

Billing details needed to complete a membership payment or donation. Card details go directly to our payment processors.

Messages & sign-ups

Name, email, phone and your message when you contact us, sign up for our newsletter or RSVP for an event.

Collected automatically

Like most websites, we receive basic technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages visited and how you arrived at the site. This helps us keep the site secure, prevent spam and understand which pages are useful.

Your public directory listing

The Business Directory is designed to help the community find and support member businesses, so the business details in your profile are visible to anyone who visits the site. This includes your business name, contact details, address, website, logo or photo, industry and description.

Your account password is never shown, and you decide what business information to include. You can edit or remove details from your profile at any time.

How we use information

  • Create and manage your account, membership and directory listing
  • Process membership payments, renewals and donations
  • Respond to your questions and requests
  • Send event updates, member announcements and newsletters you’ve signed up for
  • Manage event RSVPs and attendance
  • Feature members in programs such as Business Spotlights and “The Word” community calendar
  • Protect the site against spam, fraud and misuse
  • Understand how the site is used so we can improve it

Payments & Stripe

Membership payments are processed securely by Stripe. When you pay, your card details are entered into Stripe’s secure payment fields and sent directly to Stripe. AACCHV does not see or store your full card number. We receive limited details from Stripe, such as your name, email, the amount paid, the last four digits of your card and payment status, so we can manage your membership.

Stripe processes this information under its own Privacy Policy, and may use it to detect fraud and keep payments secure.

Donations made through our Donate link are handled by our payment processor, Authorize.Net, on its secure checkout page.

Google services

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, such as which pages are viewed and for how long. This uses cookies and does not tell us who you are.

Google reCAPTCHA

Our forms are protected by reCAPTCHA to stop spam and abuse. It checks signals such as your device and interactions to tell people apart from bots.

YouTube videos

Some pages include embedded YouTube videos. YouTube, a Google company, may collect information when you play them.

Your options

You can limit analytics through our cookie settings, or install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.

Emails & newsletters

When you join our newsletter or become a member, we send updates about events, programs, member opportunities and Chamber news through our email service provider. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email. We’ll still send essential account and payment messages, such as receipts and password resets.

Cookies & your choices

Cookies are small files stored in your browser. We use:

  • Essential cookies to keep you logged in, remember your cookie choices and keep forms and payments working
  • Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) to understand site usage, only where you allow them
  • Third-party cookies from embedded content such as YouTube videos, only when you choose to load them

When you first visit, our cookie banner lets you accept or decline non-essential cookies, and you can change your choice at any time. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some features, like staying logged in, may stop working.

When we share information

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only:

  • With service providers that help us run the site and the Chamber, including Stripe, Authorize.Net, Google, our email service provider and our website host, only as needed to provide their services
  • Publicly, for the business details you choose to include in your directory listing
  • When required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and security of our members, visitors or the Chamber

How long we keep it

We keep account and profile information for as long as your account is active. Payment records are kept as long as needed for accounting, tax and legal purposes. Messages and form submissions are kept only as long as needed to respond and follow up. When you ask us to delete your account, we remove your profile and directory listing, except for records we must keep by law.

  • Access or export: ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
  • Delete: ask us to delete your account and directory listing
