Financial Literacy Boot Camp

February 19, 2024 - February 23, 2024

The AACCHV Youth Financial Literacy Boot Camp is a week-long course that covers several areas of personal finance that will boost your child’s understanding and enhance their basic life skills. We are very excited to bring this comprehensive, engaging and fun course to children in our community!

The program will run during the week of winter break from Monday, Feb.19th to Friday, Feb.23rd from 10am to 3pm. There is no cost to enroll your children in the program, and they will be provided with lunch and healthy snacks each day. To reinforce the financial topics covered each day, your child will engage in fun and challenging group activities. Topics covered will be:

● What is a savings account?
● How checking accounts work
● How budgeting helps you to reach your goals
● How personal credit works
● How insurance protects you wealth
● How to build wealth by investing

Each child will also receive a new savings account with $50, AACCHV Financial Literacy Boot Camp T-shirt and a Financial Literacy workbook uniquely created for our program. The African American Chamber of Commerce of the Hudson Valley is committed to the growth and development of programs within our community that help to break down economic barriers, support running a business, and help people to lead financially secure lives.

Completing this introduction on how to manage their personal finances will set your child on a path to achieve greater personal and financial success in the future. They will learn the basics about how money works and gain the skills and confidence they want will need in a rapidly changing world and economy.
